During the Lithuanian-Chinese business forum on Monday in Beijing, cooperation agreements were signed between the Chinese telecommunications company Huawei and Vilnius University (VU), Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) and Kaunas University of Technology (KTU).

On Monday, Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius, currently paying a visit to the People's Republic of China, also visited Huawei Research and Development Centre.

PM Butkevičius noted that Lithuania's Government creates favourable conditions for attraction of foreign investments to the country and their business development. He invited Huawei to expand its activities in Lithuania.

In 2013, Huawei Network Academy and Mobile Apps Laboratory were opened in the Faculty of Physics of VU.
