“When choosing the location of the office, we are considering many criteria and we hope that the office in Lithuania will help improve the efficiency of our operations in the region,” a press release from Invest Lithuania, the government’s foreign investment promotion agency, quoted Vytautas Kubilius, business development manager for the Baltic countries at Google, as saying.

The unit would build up a small team of employees working with large customers and partners in the Baltic countries. The precise number of employees has not been specified.

According to information provided by the Center of Registers, Google on Thursday established a company in Lithuania. Google Lithuania is headed by Graham Law, Google’s finance director for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and has an authorized capital of 100,000 euros.
