Up to 350 Lithuanian soldiers and civilians, working for the national defence system, will be able to take part in international operations as part of NATO's Rapid Response Force, an EU battle group or NATO and EU military commands, under a resolution adopted by the Seimas of Lithuania on Thursday.

The move was backed by 83 lawmakers, with one abstention and no votes against.

The resolution also states that Lithuania will send up to 477 representatives to international operations in 2016.

This year, the Lithuanian parliament approved the participation of up to 118 troops and civilians, working for the national defence system, in international operations.
