"All Lithuanian institutions in charge of counter-terrorist efforts are ready, on alert and in close cooperation," Jauniškis has told BNS.

The level of terrorist threat in Lithuania has been unchanged since 2015, level two out of five.

At least 84 people were killed in early hours of Friday when a truck crashed into a crowd of people gathered on a promenade in the seaside resort of Nice, southern France, to observe fireworks of the Bastille Day.
