Around 60 vehicles, including Leopard tanks, CV 90 infantry fighting vehicles and M113 armored personnel carriers, will be brought in via the port of Klaipėda, it said.

A group of the Norwegian contingent has already come to Lithuania and the entire contingent is expected to arrive by the end of May.

Around 200 Norwegians will serve in the German-led multinational battalion.

Over 450 German, 100 Belgian and 250 Dutch troops have already been stationed in Lithuania as part of the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battlegroup.

In 2017-2018, the battlegroup will be manned by Germany and contributing nations, including Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Croatia, and France.
