A tabletop exercise is a meeting of higher-ranking officers to discuss a simulated emergency situation. It is aimed at improving institutional response to a future or ongoing emergency.

Interior Minister Eimutis Misiūnas has signed an order to hold such an exercise on Sep. 6.

"Such tabletop exercises often revealed coordination and information exchange drawbacks and certain conclusions can be drawn," the minister told BNS Lithuania.
