"The NATO doctrine does not have a list of enemies, it is not our goal to threaten someone. We will do what we must - enhance the security of our territory and citizens, despite everything," Linkevičius told news agency ELTA commenting on US Secretary of Defence Ashton Carter's official statement that the US intends to deploy military equipment to Eastern Europe.

According to the minister, Lithuania has already implemented legal procedures allowing to deploy US military weapons and troops in the country, therefore, now everything depends on decisions made in Washington.
