According to Major General Vitalijus Vaikšnoras, the commander of the Joint Staff, the exercise will involve 3,000 troops, 200 police officers and another 200 representatives of other institutions. Also, some 2,000 reservists will be called up for training on May 5.

"We plan to simulate various actions, including non-conventional, or hybrid, warfare, and terrorist attacks against municipal bodies and citizens. Unknown groups will try to stir unrest and riots and seize municipal buildings," he said at a news conference in Marijampolė on Thursday.

The most active phase of the drills will begin on May 2 and will continue in the streets of the towns until May 6.
