The 24 th class has graduated from the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania, receiving the rank of lieutenant from President Dalia Grybauskaitė at a solemn ceremony at Simono Daukanto Square in Vilnius on Friday.

Among the graduates are 45 males and eight females, including 46 lieutenants of the Land Forces, four lieutenants of the Air Forces and three lieutenants of the Navy.

In his address to the lieutenants, Defense Minister Raimundas Karoblis urged them to continue caring about their state.

Some 46 cadets acquired qualifications of commander of infantry company after completing a military training program at the academy. They also finished graduate programs of international relations, management of defense and security institutions, as well as modern defense technologies.

Another two officers completed graduate studies in the US Air Force Academy.
