Sigitas Dzekunskas on Monday was selected as director of Lithuania's newly-established centralized defence system procurement agency, the Defence Ministry said.

Dzekunskas, who began his career in the national defense system back in 1996, currently holds the post of senior adviser at the Defence Ministry's Defense Planning Department.

Launched this year, the Defence Resource Agency will in the long run be responsible for around 95 percent of all purchases by the defense system.
