Most volunteers turned up in Vilnius and Šiauliai regions. Although the official start of conscription is 11 May, volunteers can already sign up.

The Armed Forces says conscripts aged 19-26 years will be drafted only if there are not enough volunteers to fill the spots. 3,000 conscripts are expected to be drafted in 2015.
