A plaster model of the would-be monument was presented on Wednesday. It will be used to cast a bronze sculpture which is expected to be put in a square on Mindaugo Street this spring.

The author of the John Lennon monument is Lithuanian sculptor Jonas Gencevičius.

Vilnius has already showed its reverence to 20-century musicians by building a monument to Frank Zappa.
