A book about Lithuania's road to independence, in which Polish journalists look at their neighbours through the eyes of Czeslaw Okinczyc, a signatory to the Lithuanian Act of Independence, was presented at Warsaw Book Fair on Saturday, the daily Lietuvos Rytas reports.

This book, which was published to mark the 25th anniversary since Lithuania regained its independence, covers not just Lithuania's development of recent decades, but also looks at its past, the interwar period and the Soviet period.

It is planned that the Polish-language book named "Okinczyc. Vilnius Authority. A Story of Free Lithuania" will be published in the Lithuanian language this autumn, when Okinczyc, an advisor to Lithuania's former President Valdas Adamkus, will mark his 60th birthday.

Witold Beres, a well-known Polish journalist, wrote the book together with Jacek Komar, a Polish journalist who works in Lithuania.
