A treetop walkway in Anykščiai is one of five finalists for the UN World Tourism Organization's (UNWTO) awards for innovation in tourism.

The treetop walking path, a project by Anykščiai Regional Park, is a 300-metre walkway rising to 21m above ground.

The site is to be presented at the UNWTO event in Madrid, Spain, this week. The UNWTO Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Tourism will be handed out on Wednesday.

Sixteen tourism projects have been shortlisted for awards in four categories. Anykščiai treetop walk is one of the five finalists for the UNWTO Award for Innovation in Enterprises.

The other nominees include projects in Brazil, Indonesia, Spain and Switzerland.
