Nekrošius' Boris Godunov has been deemed the best foreign production that was performed in Russia in 2015.

The award ceremony will take place on April 16 in Moscow, the theatre said on Friday.

The award winners are selected by a poll of Russian theatre critics. Special questionnaires were sent to theatre critics attending foreign performances in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Fifty-nine critics sent in their responses.

Boris Goduvov was performed at two international Russian theatre festivals in October.
