The Lithuanian government is considering to set up an institution that would be responsible for the promotion of Lithuanian culture abroad. The issue was on Thursday's agenda of the Cabinet's Strategic Committee.

"It was decided to set up an inter-institutional group that would submit proposals on the issue and choose the best option," Antanas Martusevičius, head of the Cabinet's Press and Communication Division, told BNS.

In his words, the preliminary name of the institutions is "the Institute of Lithuania". If established, it would "coordinate the presentation of Lithuanian culture in the world".
