According to TEDxKaunas 2019 organizers, this year’s conference name “Message in a Bottle” reflects well what is going on in the world and within ourselves - technological advancements, human rights violations, pollution and global warming, hybrid and civil wars, accelerated the pace of life and search for inner peace.

The speakers and performers of this year’s „TEDxKaunas 2019: Message in a Bottle“ will present their points of view on the challenges we are faced with every day.

An event offering food for thought

Messages in glass bottles, throughout the ages, have been used for various purposes - to study water currents, to send distress signals or as invitations to prospective pen pals.

Nowadays we apply the term „Message in a Bottle“ to medical containers used by emergency personnel, time capsules hidden deep in the earth, or the radio signals broadcasted into outer space. Whatever medium the sender chooses to use, one thing is certain - all “Messages in a Bottle” carry big hope with them.

Coming across a Message in a Bottle is a great privilege since the receiver decides the fate of what they find inside. They may be surprised, alarmed, awed, curious or cautious, but never indifferent. What would YOU do with the bottle once you’ve read the message? Would you re-seal it and let it carry on floating for someone else to find? Will you break the glass and keep its contents? Would you try to reach out to the author of the message, or even share their IDEA with those around you? One thing is certain – on November 17th, 2019, no one will leave the room without feeling inspired.
