Published last week, the results of the new Health Behavior in School-aged Children (HBSC) showed that younger teenagers more often complained about classwork and homework causing them tension. Almost seven out of ten girls aged 11 and almost six out of ten said that.

In the 13 year-old group, three quarters of girls and almost two thirds of boys said they felt tension, and there were over a half of boys and seven out of ten girls in the 15 year-old age group.

In the 11 year-old group, Lithuania came in first among 45 countries and regions (mainly in Europe) that took part in the survey. And the country was second in the 13 year-old group and was in the TOP-10 in the 15 year-old group.

Nevertheless, three out of ten 15-year-old boys and four out of ten girls in Lithuania said they liked school. The proportions were lower in the 11-13 age group but they were above the average.

The 2018 survey involved over 4,000 Lithuanian teenagers aged 11-15.
