Welcoming everyone at the event, Ambassador Gediminas Varvuolis expressed his satisfaction with the project, saying that despite the never-ending everyday work, community has time for the Lithuanian language and culture. Thanking for a nice partnership, meaningful work and initiatives, the ambassador wished the LCCB team to continue to flourish and grow along with the Lithuanian language and traditions.

Director of the Cultural Centre Tautvydė Daujotytė Mukile invited all the guests to support the recent initiative - to enrich the Centre’s library - and to donate a book and a greeting.

In the background of an International Spring of Poetry event, the evening continued with poetry readings for children and song program "Spring, Love and Širvys” by choir studio "No Rain", celebrating its 5th birthday.

The LCCB started its activities in November 2014. It is Belgium's largest Lithuanian community education and cultural project carried out in cooperation with the Lithuanian Embassy to Belgium and the Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the EU.

The centre employs professional educators and artists. At the moment the LCCB’s activities are chosen by more than 100 people, half of them - children. The centre gives Lithuanian language, music, art, toy-making classes to children. Adults meet in the choir and folklore groups, take children's education, art therapy classes. The Centre's activities focus not only on Lithuanians living in Belgium, but also foreigners living there, who are interested in learning more about the Lithuanian language and culture.
