Movement between municipalities will be restricted from Saturday, March 27, until April 6.

“The approaching holiday period may lead to an increase in the movement of persons between municipalities, which enhances the risks of contacts,” Health Minister Arunas Dulkys said during the meeting of the government.

Similar to previous restrictions, movement would be allowed between the so-called ‘inner-ring’ municipalities and large cities for work and other purposes.

Lockdown has been extended until April 30.

Lithuania rolled out movement restrictions in mid-December. Since March 16, they have only been in effect in the municipalities with the worst epidemiological rates.
