The Syrian's paintings will be on display at the House of Puglu theatre until the end of April.

"We learned about the Syrian couple who came to Lithuania. One of them is an artist who depicted his experiences both back in Syria and during the journey in paintings and dreamed of staging an exhibition," Jolanta Kriščiūnaitė of the House of Puglu said in a press release.

"We were surprised by his professional and sensitive works and decided to help him do so," she said.

The Syrian couple arrived in Lithuania in early March. Theirs is the second Syrian family relocated to Lithuania under the EU program.

Amid the refugee crisis in southern Europe, Lithuania has pledged to take in 1,105 refugees from Syria, Iraq and Eritrea over two years.
