Refugees and asylum seekers are accommodated in Rukla Refugee Reception Centre located in central Lithuania.

Kristina Kašauskienė, of the Jonava department of the Labour Exchange, says she is currently consulting with 16 migrants who have been granted or are awaiting refugee status.

Four of them have been resettled in Lithuania under the European Union's programme.

A couple from Syria, who came to Rukla in late April with their three children, have not formal training, but the husband has experience of working in industrial plants and the wife has worked in agriculture, Kašauskienė says.

Another couple, 28-year-old Farah Mohammed and 30-year-old Majd Kara, have university degrees. Mohammed is a trained economist and has sent out her CV to several employers in Vilnius, including to Western Union Processing Lithuania. Kara is a graphic designer and has already organized an exhibition of his work in Lithuania.
