The District Court of Prienai Region declared that Jaroslaw Wryk did not attend the hearing and was therefore tried in absentia.

On Wednesday, the court found Wryk, 48, guilty of the car accident, which had led to a serious injury of E.V.

The driver was fined over 2,000 euros. The court’s decision will be translated into the Polish language and sent to the Polish national.

The accident took place in the town of Prienai on July 24, 2015.

As established by the court, the truck with a trailer, which was driven by the Polish national, collided with a bicycle ridden by E.V. at the intersection while the child was crossing the street at a regulated crossing. The child sustained serious injuries.
