From 6:00 in the morning on Thursday until 6:00 in the morning on Friday, Lithuanian police will enforce speeding laws to the letter – violations of even 1 km/h can expect tickets.

Police officials indicated that, for 24 hours, speed detection systems would record all speeding violation regardless of their severity. 20 other European countries are participating in this one-day action as well.

Events like these bring results, according to police representatives. When a similar effort was announced for the first time last year, not a single person was killed in traffic events on that day, and nobody died in traffic accidents during the first week of September, during which the event was held, either.
