59 percent of complaints received by the Office of Equal Opportunities Ombudsperson of Lithuania last year came from men, figures show, marking the fourth consecutive year when more complaints are received from men than women.

According to the Office, the majority (88) of discrimination investigations were carried out over alleged gender discrimination, followed by probes into discrimination on the basis of social status (63), age (30), disability (25), religion and convictions (18), nationality (8), language (7), sexual orientation (5), convictions and opinions (3) and ethnicity (2).
