Andrius Kupčinskas, the mayor of Lithuania's second-largest city Kaunas, and several other municipal officials will undergo basic military skill training for volunteers over the next few weeks, according to the Kauno Diena daily.

"It's not a joke and definitely not a reality show shoot," Kupčinskas said.

He will be joined by Kaunas Municipality's director of administration Remigijus Skilandis, Gediminas Banaitis, a chief specialist of the municipal Culture and Tourism Development Unit, councilor Marijus Panceris and Paulius Motiejūnas, head of Kaunas Žalgiris basketball club.

They will undergo training on tactics, shooting, line formation, military topography, etc.
