It is estimated that over 10,000 people visited the Lithuania's Pavilion at the universal exposition EXPO 2015 in Milan, Italy, over a period of several days, Lithuania's Ministry of Environment said.

The topic of EXPO 2015, which was opened on 1 May, is Feeding the planet, energy for life. Lithuania is also presenting its cultural and culinary heritage to the world at the exhibition.

Romas Jankauskas, Commissioner General for Lithuania's exposition at EXPO 2015, said that visitors to the Lithuania's Pavilion Balance were attracted by Lithuanian folk music band Sutaro which played and invited visitors throughout the weekend.

Visitors at Lithuania's Pavilion praised the laconic architecture of the building and its tasteful interior. They also enjoyed Lithuanian cuisine and beer. Young visitors were mostly attracted by the sculpture Drop created by Vytautas Karčiauskas and Laura Potet as well as the swings in the restaurant.

Over 140 countries from all over the world participate at EXPO 2015. Over 20 million people are expected to visit the exhibition which will close on 31 October.

The Lithuanian Pavilion entitled Balance invites visitors to take a journey through the history of the country, presents relations with other countries and their traditions as well as their impact on the Lithuanian cuisine. The space accommodating the cultural heritage displays authentic tiles and one of the oldest forks discovered in Lithuania which was brought by Bona Sforza from Italy to Lithuania in the first half of the 16th century. These exhibits were specifically brought from the Palace of the Grand Dukes to EXPO 2015. Visitors to the Lithuania's Pavilion can also see the canvas Sawyer by Kanuty Rusieski.

The second hall of the Lithuania's Pavilion invites visitors to learn about Lithuania's culinary heritage where presentations and tasting events take place. Here the visitors will be able to try authentic Lithuanian food and products with geographical indications such as rye bread, sour cream butter or skilandis. In the restaurant space, visitors will be able to try Lithuanian beer and mead and order traditional Lithuanian dishes.
