A Lithuanian paraglider pilot died in hospital after an accident during a paragliding championship in Poland.

Rolandas Sakalauskas was seriously injured during the FAI World Paramotor Slalom Championships 2015 when his paraglider hit a pole on a hill and fell to the ground on Saturday morning, according to the Polish TV station TVN24.

The Lithuanian pilot was taken to hospital but later died.

The local police have launched an investigation into the accident.
