There are plans to introduce restriction on entering forests in southern and southeastern Lithuania due to the risk of fire.

The highest risk of fire is now around Marijampolė, Alytus, Druskininkai, Varena, Šalčininkai, Valkininkai, Trakai and Nemenčinė as well as Kupiškis District and several areas in Silute District.

If the situation doesn't change, the State Forest Service plans to order to municipalities on Monday restrict access for residents to forests.
