Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) has extended the deadline for applications to become its next rector.

KTU said that its council on Thursday decided to extend the deadline until May 28 to attract more applicants.

The university launched the search for a new rector last December after Petras Baršauskas stepped down amid suspicions of plagiarizing his habilitation thesis.

Jurgita Šiugždinienė is currently serving as acting rector of KTU.
