"I think that it is needed. But you need someone who is professional and can do the translation. I think that it is very important," he told during a seminar for Lithuanian journalists in Jerusalem.

Audio guides used by visitors at the museum now come in ten languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Polish, Portuguese, Chinese, Hebrew or Arabic.

Other resources, including the Yad Vashem information website, the victim identification data base, and the majority of publications, are also available in the majority of these languages, with only several educational publications available in the Lithuanian language.

"If you can find volunteers, I think that we can try and support that kind of process with regard with those materials in your language. We can do more," the Yad Vashem chairman said.

The Yad Vashem complex aims at commemorating every killed Jew and also finding those who saved Jews. It contains thousands of artifacts of Holocaust victims, their testimonies and documents and they are exhibited at the museum.

The Yad Vashem also carries out research, educational activities, names and commemorates the Righteous Among the Nations – citizens of other countries who saved Jews.
