Four Lithuanian universities - Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Klaipėda University, Šiauliai University and the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences in Vilnius - have agreed pool their resources and allow students to use facilities in either institution.

The four universities offer a number of similar study and research programmes. The clustering will allow to make better use of their resources, the schools said.

According to Vytautas Magnus University Rector Juozas Augutis, the purpose of the cluster is to improve the quality of education by eliminating overlapping programmes and creating instead more specialised and better-quality programmes.
