Flu continues to spread in Lithuania with 16 municipalities out of 60 having declared epidemics. One death from flu-related complications was reported on Monday.

The Centre for Communicable Diseases and AIDS does not give any details about the death.

Sixteen municipalities have declared flu epidemic, which means that there are over 100 flu cases per population of 10,000. In Lithuania as a whole, there were 140 flu cases per 10,000 people.

This year, 300 people have been hospitalized with flu, 216 of them children. Ten pregnant women were taken to hospital with flu.
