No significant change has been observed in the payment of bribes by business figures – 5 percent in the latest survey and 6 percent in 2014.

In this year's survey, 6 percent of public servants admitted having paid a bribe. The group was not interviewed in the 2014 poll.

"I am not sure about how sincere the answers are. I am rather critical about the numbers (…) but we can see a tendency here," Vladas Gaidys, director of the polling company that conducted the survey, said in his presentation of the Lithuanian Corruption Map 2016.

The survey of the public, corporate representatives and public servants was conducted for the Special Investigation Service in September through October this year. The sample included 1,002 residents, 503 CEOs and 502 public servants.
