A Vilnius court on Tuesday turned down a suit filed by Gintautas Kevisas, a former long-standing director general of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater (LNOBT), over his dismissal from the job.

"The lawsuit has been dismissed," Ruta Trimailoviene, spokeswoman for the Vilnius district court, told BNS.

The ruling can still be appealed to a higher court.

Kevisas was sacked in June for placing himself in conflict of interest situations.
