A Christmas Tree will be lit in the Cathedral Square in Vilnius on Friday, kicking off a series of festive events in the Lithuanian capital.

The Vilnius City Municipality said the lighting event would lead to traffic restrictions on Vrublevskio, Šventaragio and Barboros Radvilaitės Streets on Friday evening.

The municipality has urged people to arrive at the event by public transport to avoid traffic congestions.

Another Christmas Tree will be lit in the Town Hall Square on Saturday.
