An anonymous call about an explosive device planted at Kaunas Airport on Tuesday forced an evacuation of the airport.

"The Plan Shield was immediately set off. Our officers left for the airport and people are being evacuated. Officers from (the police anti-terrorist operations unit) ARAS have been called in," Kaunas Police spokeswoman Odeta Vaitkevičienė told BNS.

The Emergency Response Centre received the anonymous call at 10:34 a.m.
