Seven Lithuanian citizens are awaiting evacuation from the Hurricane Irma-ravaged Caribbean islands of St. Martin and St. Barts, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

The ministry and Lithuania's embassies to the US, France and the Netherlands are keeping in contact with these people or their families and communicating with the responsible authorities in an effort to help the citizens on the hurricane-hit territories, according to the press release.

The Foreign Ministry has no information about any Lithuanian citizens affected by the hurricane in the US southern state of Florida.
