"Very concrete results will materialize during this visit as it will address defense and security issues," Aleksiejūnas said in an interview with local radio broadcaster Žinių Radijas.
In his words, during Grybauskaitė's two terms in office, few Polish-Lithuanian state-level meetings took place, nevertheless, the two countries have constantly kept in touch and in the current meeting intensive cooperation in the defense field will be "summarized" and lifted to a "new level".
Aleksiejūnas said that Lithuania's head of state and Polish President Andrzej Duda will adopt a declaration on security issues, while the defense ministers of both countries will sign two agreements related to information sharing over air surveillance radars and regarding affiliation of Lithuanian and Polish brigades.
The latter deal will enable the brigades to cooperate more closely protecting the Suwalki Corridor, Aleksiejūnas added.
Grybauskaitė will pay a state visit to Poland on Feb. 21-22.
