UK Prime Minister David Cameron is the latest European leader to reject Russian President Vladimir Putin's invitation to attend victory day celebrations this May in Moscow.

According to sources in the UK, Cameron opted to reject the invention due to Russian actions against Ukraine. Britain will send lower-level diplomatic delegation to represent the country in the WWII anniversary events that will take place in the Russian capital on 9 May.

Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė rejected the invention back in December. Some other world leaders have already informed Russia that they are not going to attend the parade in Moscow, including US President Barack Obama, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves and Latvian President Andris Berzins.

This year, Russia celebrates 70-year anniversary of victory against Nazi Germany, and the traditional military parade in the Red Square is planed to be grandiose.

The only European leader who confirmed that he will attend the event is Czech Republic’s President Miloš Zeman, who was already criticized in his country and abroad for his decision. North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang also confirmed that they will attend the event.
