The centralized heating system will be turned on in schools, kindergartens and medical facilities, and in residential buildings in which a majority of the residents agree to such a measure.

According to deputy Vilnius mayor Valdas Benkunskas, the heating will only be turned on from April 21-24, which is about when the central heating system was shut down last year.

In Vilnius, the central heating season ends on April 7th. This heating season was the shortest seen over the last three years.
