Toys and electrical appliances and equipment topped the list of dangerous products detected in Lithuania last year, according to the latest report published by the European Commission on Monday.

Lithuania posted 74 alerts on the European Rapid Alert System for dangerous non-food products in 2015, including 46 for toys and 10 for electrical appliances and equipment. There were also 7 notifications for dangerous products in which Lithuania was identified as the country of origin.

Latvia posted 60 alerts, mostly for toys and childcare items and equipment, and Estonia posted 21 alerts, mostly for toys.

EU-wide, a total of 2,072 alerts were registered in the system. Toys and clothing, textiles and fashion items were the two most offending product categories, at 27% and 17% respectively. China was the origin of 62% of all dangerous products.
