The Centre of Registers reports that 9,830 properties were sold last month, a significant rise from the 7,965 deals concluded in February.

Last month's results are also 22% above the level of March 2015.

"The beginning of the year is traditionally a slow time in real estate. We can see that as the year progresses, the market is becoming more active. It's a rapid seasonal growth which is particularly visible when compared to March last year. This could be explained by the relative lull that set into the market last year after the introduction of the euro," Arvydas Bagdonavičius, deputy director of the Centre of Registers, said in a statement.

Real estate sales grew in all the three biggest Lithuanian cities, Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda.
