Lithuania's unemployment figures in 2018 were better than those of the EU on average, the EU statistics office Eurostat said on Monday.

Lithuania saw its unemployment rate for people aged between 15 and 74 years fall by 0.9 percentage points to 6.2 percent, while the EU's average rate was down by 0.7 points to 6.9 percent.

Lithuania's unemployment rate for young people aged between 15 and 24 years dropped by 2.2 points to 11.1 percent.

The total unemployment rate declined by 1.3 points to 7.4 percent in Latvia and edged down by 0.4 points to 5.4 percent in Estonia.
