"Japan is a promising market for Lithuania's inbound tourism; it is fast growing and leading all Asian countries. In the first half of 2014 year-on-year, the number of Japanese tourists increased by 37.5 percent," said Gustas. "Seeking to develop even tighter relations, for the second year in a row we will organise an event introducing Lithuania's tourism sector opportunities to Japanese tourism businesses and the media."

Last year, 730 companies and organisations from more than 150 countries took part in the JATA exhibition. This time 150 countries and regions will be represented as well, with an expected turnout of 150,000 visitors.

Lithuanian Ambassador to Japan Egidijus Meilūnas said that the country's participation is a great chance to promote Lithuania and its tourism sector to a wide range of travel agencies, journalists and visitors.
