The average pre-tax wage has risen slightly higher in Lithuania, compared to Latvia and Estonia, adjusted for the indexation following tax changes introduced early this year.

Figures from national statistics offices show the average pretax salary rose 7.9 percent in Lithuania in the second quarter of this year, from the same period last year, compared to the increases of 7.8 percent in Latvia and 7.4 percent in Estonia.

In April-June, the average monthly pretax salary stood at 1,289 euros in Lithuania, compared to 1,083 euros in Latvia and 1,419 euros in Estonia.

The average after-tax salary rose 13.3 percent to 817.8 euros in Latvia and grew 7.5 percent to 799 euros in Latvia. The Estonian statistics office does not publish the after-tax salary data.
