Ship traffic at the Lithuanian port of Klaipėda has been partially restricted due to strong winds, with only vessels that do not need pilotage services allowed to enter and leave the port.

The port's officials told BNS that traffic restrictions had been in place since 8:30 p.m. on Monday.

Five vessels were waiting to enter the port on Tuesday morning.

Westerly to northwesterly winds gusting up to 15-20 meters per second are in the forecast for Tuesday.
