Ignitis, the electricity and gas supply arm of Lithuania's state-owned energy group Ignitis Grupe, and Russia's Gazprom have agreed on gas supplies in 2020, with a contract to be signed in January.

"We have agreed on gas supplies for 2020. The supply of Gazprom's gas, basically, takes place under a framework agreement, with individual contracts signed each year," Ignitis told BNS

"Such a contract for 2020 is currently being formalized. It is planned to be finalized in January," it added.

The company does not comment on the commercial details of the contract.

In November, the Russian news agency Interfax cited data from Gazprom as showing that Lithuania imported 0.85 billion cubic meters of Russian gas during the three quarters of 2019, down 9.2 percent year-on-year. However, the figure apparently includes transit shipments to Russia's Kaliningrad region.

Lithuania ended Gazprom's gas supply monopoly in 2015 after launching the Klaipeda liquefied natural gas terminal. The country imported around 2 billion cubic meters of gas via the facility this year.
