Local businesses in Vilnius have already begun to benefit from new orders that coincide with the new route. Užupis-based dental tourism specialists Odontika have begun registering Icelandic patients for June 2015.

What is more, Wow Air, the discount air carrier, is going where few other ultra low cost airlines have gone by crossing the Atlantic. If all goes according to plan, Vilnius will be linked with the USA far cheaper than ever before.

The budget airline, which is based in Iceland, announced last week that it will begin flying passengers non-stop from both Boston and Baltimore to Reykjavik, Iceland, for as little as $99 each way. The airline will begin offering the flights from March 2015.
