Lithuania's Finance Minister Vilius Sapoka has so far declined to say if he plans to continue working in the Saulius Skvernelis government, underlying, however, that the started work needs to be finished.

"I will continue the started work, with the next year's budget now in focus. I will think about my wishes (regarding further career – BNS Lithuania) when the situation becomes clearer. I have always said I do not cling to the ministerial portfolio but we need to finish the started work," Sapoka told BNS Lithuania on Monday.

Skvernelis returned his government's powers to the new President Gitanas Nauseda on Friday, and with his first decree, the new president ordered the prime minister and his government to continue working until a new government is confirmed.

Nauseda said last week Sapoka could continue working in Skvernelis' updated government.
